AST Core Values

Some of the grade 6 students had an opportunity to have a conversation with Dr. Brown about AST's core values: Integrity, Courage, Contribution, and Compassion, which shape AST’s main vision and mission. We learned from Dr. Brown that the leadership team and teachers are currently discussing the best ways to teach these core values to ensure they become embedded in our school community. Though the fine details and logistics are still being planned, the vision for our school is that all AST community members embrace and live these core values.

These core values will empower students to spread positivity outside of school. Living these core values can make people feel optimistic and positive about themselves. We can be mindful and embody the roles as global citizens and leaders. Compassion helps bring out the goodwill in us, leading us to a more empathetic life. Courage is building up resilience in us, and taking risks. Contribution is working either together or alone to serve our community and planet. Also, Integrity is being responsible, and standing up for what we believe in. Together, these core values help us become well-rounded human beings.

To many, these core values may seem like a random positivity poster on the walls around campus. However, they are more than just rules to follow or words to read. They are the principles that guide us to a more successful future, where we can work collaboratively and find solutions to the many problems in the community around us and the world. When we follow these principles, we become positive and impactful human beings.

We appreciate having these core values to make us better people in daily life.

一些 6 年級的學生有機會與校長就 AST 的核心價值--正直、勇氣、貢獻和同理心，進行了對話，這些核心價值塑造了 AST 的主要願景和使命。我們從校長那裡了解到，AST行政團隊和教師目前正在討論教導這些核心價值觀的最佳方式，以確保它們融入AST社群。儘管細節和後續工作仍在計劃中，但學校的願景是AST 都了解並實踐這些核心價值觀。

這些核心價值將使學生能夠在校外傳遞正能量。實踐這些核心價值能使人們對自己感到樂觀和積極，我們能注意並體現全球公民和領導者的角色。同理心有助於激發我們的善意，引導我們過上更有同理心的生活;勇氣增強我們的韌性，並鼓勵我們勇於冒險。貢獻是為我們的社區和地球服務。此外，誠信是負責任的態度，堅持我們所相信的。這些核心價值共同幫助全人發展。

對許多人而言，這些核心價值看起來可能像是校園牆上張貼的海報。然而，它們不僅僅是我們要遵循的規則或要讀的文字，而是引導我們走向更成功未來的原則，我們能學習合作並找到解決社區和世界上許多問題的方法。當我們遵循這些原則時，我們就會成為積極而有影響力的人。

我們感謝有這些核心價值的教導，幫助我們在日常生活中成為更好的人。
